International Portal Optimized for Wholesale and Retail

Our client – Tracon Electric, a Hungary-based electrical product distributor present in 9 countries – has been a dominant market player for over 35 years, serving B2B and B2C partners with market-specific operations in each country. A significant portion of their customer relationship and sales processes takes place in the custom eCommerce system developed by us.

The Challenge

 

One of the most critical points of implementation was that building most customer service and commercial functions directly on top of the cloud-based ERP would have been cumbersome and costly. The challenges appeared on multiple levels:

  • The 9 companies operated with different pricing logics and complex product hierarchies.

  • Synchronizing customer service processes – such as claims, returns, and document management – with the ERP presented a major system integration challenge.

  • During campaign periods – such as Black Friday or anniversary sales – the system had to handle massive loads alongside unique settings.

  • Serving country-specific content and display requirements made system flexibility a key competitive advantage.

  • The system had to support 19 languages, including those using the Cyrillic alphabet.


Critical business questions included:

 

  • How can ERP stability be maintained while ensuring digital channels remain flexible?

  • How can complex pricing across multiple countries, dynamic product masters, discount categories, seasonal coupons, and varying currencies be managed uniformly so that the webshop cart total always matches the ERP’s final calculation?

  • How can marketing and sales needs be served without directly overloading the ERP?

  • How can a digital channel be designed to make daily operations faster, simpler, and more business-efficient?

The goal was to establish an independent yet closely integrated business layer that provides genuine flexibility without overloading the ERP.

The Solution

 

Csapatunk a webshop és a mobilalkalmazás mellett egy köztes réteget Our team developed a middleware layer between the ERP and the frontend (webshop and mobile app) that acts not merely as a data gateway but implements custom business logic. This technological isolation allows the digital channels to evolve dynamically while preserving the stability and operational security of the ERP.

The middleware is responsible for:

  • consistent data connection between the ERP and digital channels,

  • data consolidation and synchronization,

  • mapping complex category structures, pricing, and authorization logic,

  • implementing customer service functions not manageable within the ERP.

 

The system provides an administration interface for managing portal content and 19 language versions, and allows for limited editing of partner data.

Reseller Store Locator

A standout feature is the 360° product viewer, which provides a rotatable, interactive view for numerous items. This function is powered by a shared JavaScript-based service across all platforms.

The Result

 

Beyond its webshop functions, the system serves as a communication platform, providing a structured channel for partner engagement. Push notifications, CMS content, a store locator, a document library, and catalogs help customers access relevant information quickly. The B2B registration process, implemented through OPTEN integration based on tax IDs, accelerates onboarding and reduces the risk of data errors.

A key element of the system is the ERP-driven product listing logic, which maps the category structure and allows goods to be organized into unique lists and campaigns, ensuring display flexibility.

This is particularly critical during periods when cross-border traffic spikes rapidly, such as Black Friday.

During our decade-long cooperation, two additional applications were built on the middleware: 

 

  • Sales Representative Mobile App: Allows reps to manage B2B customer data and orders in the field via mobile devices, replacing previous non-optimized web solutions.  

  • Kiosk Application: A digital interface on in-store devices for displaying current promotions.

We are proud that the system has handled several high-volume promotional periods over the years without major disruptions, proving its stability and business reliability.
